Where direction takes shape
We treat concept development as an integrated engineering discipline, engaging proactively in the early project phases to define robust solution spaces where architecture, technology and construction realities are brought into alignment.
The work is interdisciplinary and exploratory, carried out in close dialogue with the client, architect and other consultants. This is where opportunities and constraints are mapped, and where the decisions with the greatest impact on function, economy, sustainability and feasibility are made.
In the concept phase, we establish the project's main strategic direction across structural, technical and functional considerations — developing the primary structural principle, strategies for building services, flexibility and future use, as well as high-level decisions on sustainability, certification and regulatory matters.
Certified structural engineers, experienced design engineers and relevant specialists are brought in early to ensure that key assumptions are tested and clarified from the outset.
We also maintain a clear focus on users, indoor environment and operations throughout. Buildings need to work in practice — which is why user behaviour and day-to-day use are part of the conversation from the very start.
This creates a broader scope for action in the subsequent phases and establishes a strong foundation for design and construction.
